Inspired by your comments last week, I’ve come up with another idea for the Science and Engineering Library. My goal for this project is to liven up the study area in the Sci/Eng Library as well as involve all the majors that the library supports.
Here is a list of majors that the Sci/Eng Library states they support:
- Astronomy
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Computer Science
- Earth & Environment
- Mathematics & Statistics
- Physics
- Electrical Engineering
- Computer Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Biomedical Engineering
I would have a hexagonal tile (almost any material will work) for each major and in each tile, I would have a picture or design that represents that tile's respective major. The tiles would be laid out to look something like this:
Next steps:
- Would have to talk to BU administration/facilities/libraries to see if they would allow my project to be installed in the area
- Figure out what types of materials would be best for this project (tile? prints on vinyl?)
- Find out how to make visual representation more appealing
