Science and Engineering Library: More Brainstorming
5:19 PMI've decided on an idea I'd like to work with, and here is what I have so far.
Location: Science and Engineering Library, 38 Cummington Mall
Panoramic view of entire wall
Left side of the wall
Right side of the wall
Idea: Located in a corner of the Science and Engineering Library is a nice, quiet study area. However, the corner is dark, dreary, and lackluster. Luckily, there is an abundance of empty wall space where some art could be hung up! Since this is the Science and Engineering Library, I thought it would be a great idea to try and combine science and art to create something to display on the dull wall.
I'd prefer the actual pieces to be more similar to the plates in the photo from the NY Times article (see previous photo), but I was unable to find high quality images to use. In the meantime, this is a visual representation of the idea I currently have in mind.
What are the logistics behind this idea?
- What will we need?
- Vinyl
- High quality color printer
- Adhesive
- Who will it involve?
- Boston University administration - Need to receive permission in order to proceed with project
- Scientists, researchers, or students - Qualified people who are willing to create streak plates, grow colonies of bacteria, etc. and will consent to their work being used for this project
- A team of workers with the proper equipment to install the art once it is complete
- Cost - ???
